About

jon-new

My name is Jon Myers and I’m a designer and entrepreneur. I have a huge passion for technology, design and entrepreneurship.

This is my blog where I discuss thoughts on these topics with you. Welcome and thanks for stopping by.

The specific areas of technology I’m interested in are social technologies, web applications and mobile.

Over the years I’ve had my hands in a multitude of projects of this nature, not to mention I’ve founded or co-founded some startups in some of those spaces.

A few current projects include JUFTi, a casual, social iPhone gaming startup. Our first game Cornhole All-Stars launches soon. DOmedia is a startup focused on simplifying the process of buying and selling alternative media.

Sometimes I start projects that seemingly have no purpose whatsoever. Scotch & Steak is one such act of social engineering that seeks to selfishly, ultimately monetize my vice.

You will see that I will often write about topics that resemble marketing. In particular, topics that resemble what most call Social Media or Social Media Marketing. I tend to think of these things as Design. Contextual, artful expressions of communication that create value for senders and receivers. I’m not trying to be a contrarian, but I want to steer clear of the marketer’s mindset.
